John Q. Binhlam, MD, FAAD, FASMS

A native of Kentucky, John Q. Binhlam, MD, FAAD, FASMS, received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University (VU) in Computer Science and Mathematics. He then felt the call to pursue medicine, which led him to the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Binhlam later completed his Internal Medicine residency at Indiana University before returning to VU to pursue his subspecialty residency in Medical and Surgical Dermatology. Dr. Binhlam is an active mentor and educator of medical students, residents, and other physicians. He has served in various societal leadership positions; most notably, as past-President of the Nashville Dermatology Society, the Tennessee Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the national American Society of Mohs Surgery. As a strong advocate for patient health and rights, he regularly participates in lobbying efforts on behalf of the American Academy of Dermatology Association and the One Voice Against Cancer Coalition. In his spare time, Dr. Binhlam is a golf hacker; yet, remains supremely dedicated to his four-legged child, a spunky Westie, Abby Sugarpie.

Alisa HefnerDr Binlham is a professional who ask questions and listens to you. He is very detailed and friendly. Spends time with you, not in a rush. I have been here for skin allergies, yearly dermatology for sun screening and injections and fillers for wrinkles. He takes most insurances. If you spend cash/check you do not get the credit card surcharge.

Julie espinozaExcellent service and staff. My husband had gone here for years. Because of drive i was seeing a local derm for a severe rash/scaly patches with severe itching. After 6 months of 4-5 different treatments, that didn't work, they said i needed allergy testing. Then wasn't prepared for the testing after i had been scheduled for over 4 weeks. I called dr. Binhlam’s office and was seen before the end of the week. He walked in, looked at me and said I had severe eczema. Started Dupixent injections and within days I had relief of itching and rash started subsiding. I have since been to him for several skin issues. Excellent physical and staff. All very friendly and professional.
