Fungal infections may also involve the hair bearing scalp “tinea capitis”, groin “tinea cruris (or jock itch)”, feet “tinea pedis (or athlete’s foot)”. Fungal infections are contagious, can continue to spread and typically cause significant itch and discomfort, and can mimic other skin diseases.
