Ellen Jacobson, MD

Board Certified Dermatologist

Dr. Ellen Jacobson, a native of West Nashville, embarked on her medical journey through volunteer work in rural Latin America with the Amigos de las Americas program, where she dedicated three summers to providing vaccinations against childhood diseases and basic dental care. This impactful experience ignited her passion for medicine, leading her to further her education after graduating cum laude from the University of the South where she earned a B.S. degree with dual majors in Spanish and Biology.

In 1982, Dr. Jacobson enrolled in the University of Tennessee Center for Health Science in Memphis, where she successfully obtained her M.D. degree in 1986. During her medical school tenure, a personal experience involving the diagnosis of a family member with malignant melanoma sparked her interest in dermatology.

Following a two-year term at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Dr. Jacobson immersed herself in the Dermatology Residency Program at the University of Tennessee. Her dedication and expertise culminated in her certification by the American Board of Dermatology in 1991. Today, Dr. Jacobson brings a wealth of experience and a genuine commitment to dermatology and we are excited to have her as part of the ASLC team.
