Nail Diseases

Diseases of the nail unit can involve the nail itself, the nail bed, or surrounding skin (nail
folds). Common conditions can be infectious (fungus, yeast, bacteria), cancerous or benign
tumors (moles, angiomas, melanoma, squamous or basal cell carcinoma, warts), inflammatory (skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis), discoloration (many causes), trauma induced (subungual hematoma, ingrown nail). Depending on the cause, most problems can be corrected or improved with medical treatment and/or surgery after evaluation by our highly trained Dermatologists.
